cbs Malaysia is the subsidiary of cbs, a leading international consultancy headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany. We deliver high-end quality consulting and technology services to large industrial corporations that run SAP.
We are looking for a SAP Pre-sales Lead who is passionate to grow with us in the APAC region. You will be an integral part of the Sales Team and help the local management to grow the business. You will establish and manage relationships with potential and existing clients, but also partners of cbs. To succeed, we equip you with relevant training and mentoring to develop your career in IT service sales on the fast track.
Your work at cbs
You focus on following tasks:
- SAP business development and pre-sales.
- Ownership of SAP business growth.
- Building go-to-market (GTM) lists, strategies, and solutions.
- Building and maintaining customer relationships.
- Driving and managing sales opportunities from initiation to closure.
- Delivering optimal customer solutions with accurate estimations.
- Establishing strategic partnerships.
- Taking end-to-end responsibility for various SAP opportunities, from initiation through to successful closure.
- Collaborating and coordinating with Technical, Solution, Sales, Pricing, and Operations teams to interpret client RFP requirements and craft solutions that meet those needs.
- Writing high-quality, winning proposals and responses to RFPs that clearly articulate the designed solution, value proposition, and differentiators.
- Following the internal pre-sales process and guiding the designed solution through various reviews.
- Presenting designed solutions and proposals to customers convincingly and effectively, including preparing POCs and conducting presentations.
- Contributing to the design, architecture, and estimation of high-quality, winning solutions for ongoing opportunities, with a focus on technical, functional, and overall excellence.

- Provide technical and business consultative leadership during the pre-sales and post-sales cycles for mid-market ERP implementations.
- Act as a subject matter expert on S/4HANA and related SAP product suites, serving as a critical client contact and strategic advisor throughout the sales cycle.
- Offer process expertise and solutions in Supply Chain areas, integrating with other SAP ERP modules.
- Collaborate with sales and presales teams to plan account strategies and develop content that enables the sales team to qualify, position, and demonstrate SAP service offerings to prospects and clients.
- Engage with customers in executive meetings, solution workshops, and design sessions, clearly articulating the business value of SAP solutions through tailored presentations and demos.
- Identify and describe solution options, evaluate pros and cons, and recommend the best solution strategies and estimated timelines.
- Create business requirements documents, process maps, high-level solution design diagrams, and scopes of work for various business implementation scenarios.
- Ensure formal handoff of design and cost estimation to the Delivery Team for executed deals, providing technical input to key project team members and stakeholders.
- Guide deep cross-functional discovery conversations with customers based on industry best practices, customer research, and SAP customer experiences.
- Assist in developing proposals for RFIs/RFPs, driving solution expertise and competitive messaging in the response package.
- Train other members of the pre-sales team on the technical aspects of service offerings and products.
- Manage bidding and pre-sales cycles from end to end.
Job requirements
Your qualifications
- Over 5 years of SAP pre-sales and/or architecture experience, with hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA modules.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers and recommend creative solutions.
- Proven ability to engage in value-based client conversations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal sales and delivery teams.
- Adaptability to changes in the business environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain composure and a constructive attitude in stressful situations.
- Understanding of high-level customer requirements, key design decisions, and potential choices.
- Engaging and confident communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills, and exceptional analytical and commercial acumen.
- Experience in SAP implementation as a consultant or project manager.
- Knowledge of other ERP solutions is welcomed.
- Broad knowledge of SAP products and use cases beyond SAP S/4HANA.
- Understanding of methodologies (Activate, Agile, SDLC, SCRUM) and industry business fundamentals, with a quick learning curve.
- Experience working with onsite teams in business development or delivery.
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated deep knowledge of SAP solutions and relevant industries to maintain credibility with prospective customers, providing proof points with relevant customer stories.
